Item details

White sea glass drop, found on Withernsea beach, has a silver plated mount and a 20inch silver plate chain. The glass is approx 3 x 2.5 cm at its widest parts and 0.5cm deep.

Each piece of sea glass washed up on the beach is unique in its shape and markings due to the effects of the sand and stones wearing it down, the length of time it has been in the sea and its original composition before it entered the sea. This stone retains some of the surface hazing from its time in the salt water and yet, when held to the light, areas of clarity shine through.

This piece of glass although irregular in shape is smooth and moves well on its large silver plate bale. it really sparkles with the light shining through it. This had a new longer silver plate chain added in February 2021.
