An excellent multi functional kitchen basher! Turned from Wanstead Sycamore, with a great dense grain, and to a traditional design. Exceptional for crushing ice or biscuit crumb, for tenderizing meat into schnitzels, mashing potatoes, swede or squishing spinach, herb & garlic pestle, so with all those attributes it's a great addition to the kitchen utensil drawer. Measures 19cm long and 4.5cm diameter at the business end.

My wife had a desire to make cocktails & crushed ice was required so I came up with this one. She was delighted & discovered, when the cocktail fad was over, that it had so many uses. Sycamore is a traditional food use timber, exceptionally durable and with a high silica content exceptionally hard. So whenever I hear someone is having a tree pruned or felled I get along there and see if I'm able to take a log or two away to transform into beautiful things for the kitchen.
