Item details

Made on a cardboard loom, this piece is woven using a fine gold thread for the warp (vertical) and embroidery threads for the weft (horizontal). It has loop stitch and basic weave stitches over different threads. The fringe is just knotted on and cut to give it a fluffy edge and a slanted bottom. I have coloured a cocktail stick using permanent marker and attached the weave to it. The hanging loop could be hung on a small pin in your dolls house or room box or you could use a small dab of glue or glue dot.

Total hanging length 3", weave is 2" long and 3/4" wide, wooden bar is 1 3/4" wide, all measurements are approximate.

NOT INTENDED AS A TOY, not suitable for children under the age of 12 years old.

I love miniatures and dolls houses. Ironically I don't have enough space for a dolls house! Having caught the weaving bug I wondered if I could make a mini loom and produce scaled down versions and here we are!. These bright colours against the black would stand out in any modern dolls house. I must say this was very fiddly to do but I am very happy with the end result.
