Small Gecko resin wall art.

Unique and individual piece of wall art. Made from resin and MDF base.

Each Gecko is made individually, first the base is cut out from 6mm MDF in my workshop using a router, this gives a stable base for the resin. After the MDF has had a coat of black water based primer the resin is prepared with different pigments and is poured onto the MDF. Next with either a straw and my lungs or a hair dryer the resin is "pushed" around until it has completely covered the MDF base. The resin has only a 30 minute working time before it starts to set, so whatever patterns are made at this point are set.

The resin has to "cure" for approx 5-7 days, after which the back is sanded to remove any drips from the cured resin, and my brand is applied. The Gecko is now finished and ready for hanging.

As this wall art contains MDF and the back is not sealed, this is for interior use only and should NOT be used outside as water ingress will damage the art. Water damage is not covered for return.

Double sided "sticky pads" are supplied for you to hang your Gecko in which orientation suits you.

My youngest son kept Gecko's from an early age, his favourite was a yellow, white, and black spotted Leopard Gecko called "Marmite" I can always remember going to get food for them at the local pet shop and watching all the Gecko's and other reptiles in the vivarium's and how fascinating they were with all the different colours.
