This necklace was inspired by the shells I see on my regular walks along the Thanet coastline.
I found the cockle shell that these are moulded from when I was at an outdoor monthly craft fair overlooking Margate Main Sands.
I loved the size and the detail of the shell, so I took a mould and in my pottery class started experimenting with different types of clay. I love the creamy colour of stoneware and paired it with sterling silver findings to best set off the warm tones of the clay.
