I saw a tie design on youtube and thought it was so good. I also had just worn out a silk tie and had spent a lot of money on it. The chain mail tie, I thought, would be harder wearing and last longer. So I just had to have a go a make one. It came out really well with my own design on the size of rings. I was wearing it and sneezed and broke the neck chain part. It was then I added the rubber band to allow for this.
