I love the weightiness of smooth pebbles, the sedimentary layers and patterns made by the waves. I found a way to replicate that feel through concrete, which has a tactile warmth to it. I wanted to find a way to wear and promote this lovely material in a non-architectural way, Bauhaus meets beach if you will.
Whilst the inspiration for the jewellery pieces is predominantly natural form, the colours and patterns are also influenced by many trips to the Riverside Museum in Glasgow and the colours of old buses and cars, as well as the ornate painting and decoration. Worth a trip if you are ever in town.
