Item details

I cut the shape out of very thin - 2mm Mdf wood on my scroll saw. I then paint with acrylic ink before adding detail with archival ink pen. The nest has been finished with a coat of gloss varnish.
These are little experiments really, a bit whimsical.
There's loads of things I want to paint and painting them small means I can have a go at them all, birds nests being one in a long line of things. They are surprisingly difficult to paint and I shall definitely revisit them again.
It measures approximately 10cm X 13cm.
The reverse is painted with a little love heart and signed and dated.

Birds nests are a bit magical, they are feats of engineering by little birds with only a beak to manipulate and build. They are things of beauty, I haven't mastered them yet but these are my attempts, poor in comparison to the real thing but lovely to paint.
