Contemporary patchwork & applique wall hanging, inspired by some lovely chairs found abandoned in London.
The background is bonded patchwork using beautiful, vibrant hand dyed and commercial cotton fabrics and features an image of a graffitied wall printed onto cotton fabric. The chairs are machine appliqued. Free motion quilted with text -"once upon a time there were three chairs".
A narrow fabric sleeve has been stitched to the back of the wall hanging so that a wooden batten or similar can be attached for hanging. Batten not included.

Wandering through London on a beautiful summer's day with my husband who was interested in photographing graffiti, we came across some chairs, abandoned behind a building. They were once lovely chairs and it made me curious about who used to sit on them, where they had come from and whether anybody would still take a moment of quiet rest on one of them.
They could tell some stories, so I began mine with "once upon a time there were three chairs..."
