I had a desire to make some really practical wooden items and came across some really nice sweet chestnut. The bowl is broad and shallow with a very stable base, making it perfect for food serving. The rim is blackened with a home made all natural stain that reacts with the wood itself to make it change colour, this part worked really well turning a deep black.
