A Serving/Chopping Board hand-made in locally-sourced Copper Beech with a food-safe Oil finish:
Small (27 x 23 x 2 cm) at £26
Medium (44 x 23 x 2 cm) at £32
Large (71 x 23 x 2 cm) at £38
We like to use the large version as a serving platter for cheese and crackers. The medium size is ideal as a breadboard. The small version is good for vegetable preparation.
These came from a Beech tree felled in Lincolnshire Arboretum as part of a responsible woodland management programme. It was then planked and air-dried for a few years in Nottinghamshire by a local tree-milling specialist. I bought a couple of planks and made these chopping boards to see how Copper Beech looks when cut, sawn and oiled. I could make more of these, or I may use the remaining planks to make a kitchen worktop.
