The is a Large tall panel measuring approximately 400 x 300 x100mm including glass plinth.
This piece is made using clear glass with applied Frits, stringers, enamels and silverstain.
The glass is fired in my kiln 4 x times each firing develops colour depth and detail. The final firing slumps the glass into a concave mould. Once the firing programmes are complete the glass is bonded onto a glass base.
My work employs traditional and modern materials and methods.
All my work is produced in my studio Ingaskeldt in beautiful Orkney.

This design was originally developed for a friend. It has many elements of Mid Century design which we are both big fans of. The big splashy heads of the daisies and the stylised stems which have cut stringers fuse tacked to the surface. The yellow wavy background is silverstain which is a traditional stained glass method. The stain is applied to the back of the glass and fires deep into the surface. Once fired the residue of the stain is washed off to reveal the depth of colour. The stains vary from pale yellow to deep ochre. I love to employ many different
techniques acquired during my days studying glass at Art College.
