My chopsticks and stands are made from different timbers and are oiled with sunflower oil to ensure that they are safe to use for the task they were designed for, in particular sushi.
3 pairs with stands in Goncalo Alves, (Portuguese for tiger wood), grown in Brazil some time ago from a FSC source timber yard. These have three grooves in the tips to aid pick up of more delicate foods. 242mm long.
2 pairs with stands in black walnut grown in the USA, a nice fruit wood that is slightly softer than the tiger wood chopsticks. These have two grooves in the tips to aid pick up of more delicate foods. 262mm long.

These chop sticks are made from organic, natural, solid wood and will distort if put in a dishwasher or to near a heat source, they will discolour if left in direct sunlight.
To care for the chopsticks first wash in warm soapy water then dry, and finally oil them with vegetable oil. The item you see here is the one you will receive and I have aimed to provide dimensions which are as accurate as possible. Please note that wood is a natural product and can be affected by its environment.

The idea for my chopstick came from a work buddy who said to me that I should make some chopsticks and stands that are different than the norm.
So these are individually made by hand in Torquay, by me. The tips has grooves at the tips to aid their use on different food types in particular fish and squid. The stands are made from the same wood as the chopsticks, for continuity.
As time goes on and thoughts change so will the types and designs change, just like the seasons we constantly look at different ideas in a different light.
