This hip bag is 21cm tall , 20cm wide and 5 cm deep. The secure zipped front pocket is large enough for a smart phone, and there's a similar sized easy access pocket behind it. The side pockets are designed to hold pens and penknives, and the small pocket on the back is sized to hold a small notebook.

Inside, the main compartment is large enough for wallet, keys, dog bags etc. There are small pockets on the inside front and sides to help to keep things separate.

The bag is closed with an elastic draw cord and grip toggle.

These hip bags are generally worn on the right hip - out of the way for UK drivers - but can be slung over a shoulder or worn cross body. The strap is wide marine-grade webbing, fastened with a quick-release buckle.

The acrylic canvas is salvaged from the remnants left over from a yacht spray hood and can be washed in warm water, and reproofed if required.

Welcome! This is a very new shop and I'll be adding lots of other items soon. Look out for more hip bags, hip pouches, bags, hats, aprons, coin pouches, tote bags and shoulder bags. All made from recycled, salvaged or found materials.

In my other life - as a countryside ranger - I need a way to carry a number of small items in an accessible way. I find that rucksacks aren't practical because they have to be taken off for each rummage - and shoulder bags just swing in the way every time you bend or move.

I made the prototype hip bag from a couple of wax coat pockets sewn together - with an effective pocket in between. I loved it. And when it wore out I came up with this design - which hasn't altered since its inception. I'm currently using a blue and green one - but each time I see a new colour combination I want one of those too! You can't go wrong with black and red!
