A pretty art pendant. This square pendant has a miniature print of my original artwork inset under glass. The print is in a square, antique gold tone metal setting and comes with a metal bead chain approx 18 inches long.
My miniature art pendants are inspired by the portrait miniatures seen in the 17th and 18th centuries when original miniature portraits, often of royalty and aristocrats, were painted and set under glass to be used in jewellery.
My pendants comes in organza bags and make ideal gifts.
I can also make custom pendants using suitable images supplied by the customer - please contact me through Folksy messages.
As a craft tutor, I am constantly helping other people make beautifully crafted items they can be proud of. And I often neglect my own work. As someone who loves to paint and create images in various ways, I often use my work or small parts of my work in my crafts. I particularly love the concept of wearable art and so I decided to create a new collection of pendants from art miniatures using the same technique that was used in the 17th and 18th centuries. It was common back then for wealthy people to wear pendants with portraits of royalty, under glass, a technique used by many crafters today, to create glass pendants of various images.
