A painting and decorating friend was tidying his van, I cauting about to throw his drop-cloths away. So glad I did! I find the imperfections and paint spatter wonderful. The simplicity and honesty of the drop-cloth creates a perfect contrast to the beauty and formality of the high-end pure silk textile samples.
I have 4 small pieces of hand‐woven vintage silk that inspired me to make these landscapes including the imperfections and frayed edges in each piece.
