This began as a broken Whitby jet brooch, and is now an elegant pendant necklace with snowflake obsidian, black agate and sterling silver beads, and a sterling silver hook clasp. It is 18 inches/46cm long.

I love the challenge of making something out of broken or discarded pieces, and Whitby jet is so evocative of a previous age. I wanted to turn this small fragment of the past into something beautiful for today and tomorrow.
