I love to paint birds & wildlife, a regular customer asked if I could paint her a large flamingo, I had never painted one before so I decided I would create a few smaller ones to build my confidence before starting the rather large commission.
I absolutely loved painting them and
Lone Wader quickly became my favourite.
This original is painted onto a natural spruce ply panel, I’ve allowed the ink to blend into the surface which allows the grain to show through.
I’ve mixed metal pigments onto the paint to create a shimmering moving fluid which changes with the light.
