Made from English apple which was diseased and felled in the summer of 2017. The wood is a mixture of gold and black grain set off with green hands on the UTS movement. This timber is a mystery when it was discovered in the timber store a small log. A quick visit to the bandsaw and all was revealed once the log was split into 30mm strips. There was only enough to make two clock bodies from, but as it’s a natural product the two clocks show different features and the outer shape illustrates where the tree developed its trunk before the infection changed its appearance to this amazing black and gold colour.
Clock movement is a UTS quartz movement with black metal hands made in Germany and are exposed so care must be taken with these hands. AA battery required.
Clock 14. Size 165mm high x 135mm wide x 40mm deep, it weighs 0.24kgs (10ozs)
This clock is made from organic, natural, solid wood and will distort if put near a heat source such as a radiator, it will also discolour if left in direct sunlight. The item you see here is the one you will receive and I have aimed to provide dimensions which are as accurate as possible. Please note that wood is a natural product and can be affected by its environment.
