The dark granite emerges from the depths with strength and solidity. Uniform shapes pointing to the sky with a purpose. Painted in oil, defining the abstract shapes and texture with a swirling mist, as is often seen dancing around draping its soft veil over the coarse stone.
I love this moorland, it speaks to me, I see it, feel it, paint it. I hope it conveys the mystery and magic to you too.

My love of the moorland landscape and its ever changing light, weather and seasons inspire drama and emotion that once seen, I have to paint. I paint quick sketches en plein air in watercolour before working from my studio on the finshed piece.
