The musical waters of a highland burn are home to an abundance of small fish. Herons love to fish. A marriage made in heaven. And the ideal subject for 'Silent Hunter' - a wall art just waiting to happen!

The artwork for this design begins life on a traditional sketch pad. It is then redrawn using computer software. All the shapes are then isolated and cut from wood using a high powered laser. Each piece is then colour stained by hand and reconstructed to form a 3D version of the original 2D design.

The baseboard is made of pine. The 3D image layers are of poplar. All Wall Arts come ready to hang with two D rings mounted on the reverse. I recommend using two picture hooks rather than a cord, as this holds the Wall Art flatter agains the wall.

Please note: Each 'Silent Hunter' is entirely hand made. Therefore whilst I make every effort to maintain uniformity, there may be some small variations from one item to another (eg exact colour, knotting in wood etc).

'Matilda' was a young rescue heron we found abandoned and in a bad way when we lived on Scotland's West Coast. We nursed her back to health and rehabilitated her to the wild. A few days later, she came back! The lure of fresh sardines from the supermarket was just too much to resist! This is my tribute to her. I hope she has enjoyed a good life!
