Ammonite fossil circle. Natural hemp cord, macrame tied unisex necklace, hand waxed with beeswax.
Made with love, by me.
An ammonite fossil cut in half to reveal inner structure. They were predatory mollusks that resembled squid. These cephalopods had eyes, tentacles, and spiral shells. They are more closely related to a living octopus.
Care note: Keep away from water as it damages and loosens the cord.

Macramé is believed to have originated with 13th-century Arab weavers and the same art form can be found all over the world within different cultures and tribes. It was originally made to form baskets and rungs for the home, as well as for jewellery.
This fascinates me as I continue to learn the craft and bring it from my home to yours.
