Record your special memories and store your precious photos in this handmade vintage journal, created using tea dyed papers, rescued book pages, old music manuscript sheets, Kraft paper and vellum.
The journal includes a variety of pockets and tuck spots embellished with paper napkin decoupage, cotton crochet lace and reclaimed buttons. There are various journaling cards and tags embellished with book pages and Victorian figures, and others with paper napkin decoupage, mostly finished with reclaimed sari silk ribbon ties. Salvaged necklace beads dangle from bulb pins and teabag drawstrings are adorned with metallic discs and adhered faux gemstones.
The cover is constructed from a badly damaged 19th century book that I saved from destruction at a car boot sale. It has been decorated with Stamperia Clockwise paper and tissue paper, metallic corners and centrepieces and more salvaged jewellery. The interior has been finished with Clockwise paper. The front inside cover has a writing board and bookmark tucked into pockets. The rear inside cover has a small attached notepad that co-ordinates with the journal contents.
There are three pamphlet stitched signatures of 20 pages. I have also included two Midori elastic bindings for the owner to enclose additional pages or envelopes.
The journal is fastened with an attached suede cord with beaded ends.
