Printed tote bag, with the same image on both sides, made from a strong woven polyester fabric, fully lined with plain black polyester, and with strong black cotton webbing straps.

A lovely and unusual gift for anyone who loves seals.

Matching greetings cards are also available.

Bag size approx. 12 1/2" (310mm) square, with a bottom of width approx. 2 1/2" (60mm) across, and 1" (25mm) wide straps hanging approx. 12 1/2" (310mm) down from the shoulder.

This printed bag features an image of a common or harbour seal, originally created as an illustration for my children's book "The Tree with a Golden Heart" in the Adventures of Algy series.

Silvie the Seal

Observant visitors to my shop may notice that Silvie the seal appears as my avatar :) She has beautifully appealing, wistful eyes and very fine whiskers, and she remains one of my favourite wildlife illustrations.

Silvie was drawn from my own photographs of a real seal, who was living in a local marine life sanctuary. However, we do see seals frequently in the ocean around the coast here, so it was no stretch of the imagination to place her there. Although the illustration didn't appear until the second story, Silvie was painted in spring 2015, while I was writing the first book, "A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird", as she plays an important role in that book too, and indeed in all the Adventures of Algy stories.

The original painting from which this card is reproduced was created with Winsor and Newton professional watercolour paints and watercolour sticks, and Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils on Fabriano Artistico HP watercolour paper.
