Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
A spectacles case featuring a pretty garden border of roses, delphiniums and hollyhocks. This glasses case has been entirely hand-stitched.
The front of this glasses case has been made from 'eco' felt - produced from recycled plastic bottles. Using hand-dyed wool, a garden design and blue sky have been felted to the background using an embellisher machine. Roses and hollyhocks have been felted and embellished with simple stitching. Other flowers and foliage have been stitched in wools and cotton threads.
The case is lined in a blue and white floral fabric and inter-lined with interfacing. The reverse of the cover is a blue and white striped canvas fabric. The case is seemed with blanket stitch in crochet cottons for durability, blue and green used for different parts of the design in order to tone. The case closes with a crocheted loop - using the same blue cotton thread, over a grey button.
Dimensions (excluding seems):
Depth - 16.8 cm approx
Width - 8.8 cm approx
One in a series of felted and embroidered poppy items.
