An Original Antique Print from Chatterbox Box Magazine from 1884 showing an Engraving of 'The Page thinking of Home'. Printed by Wells Gardner, Darton & Co, 2 Paternoster Buildings, London. The black and white print shoes a wistful Boy staring into the distant and dreaming of home.
The Verse beneath reads: "It is the hour the boy loves well, His thoughts have wondered far away, To the dear home where loved ones dwell, And where a child, he used to play. How well he can recall the time, When mother's kiss he used to greet!, Ah! Ever in his in most heart, That recollection will be sweet".
I have Individually Handprinted this with my Vintage Key Linocut in Rich Ruby Red.
Mounted on Cream Mountboard ready for you to frame - A4 size.
Victorian Gothic and wistful prints are a love of mine. Anything with a Wuthering Heights vibe I find so beautiful - I hope my Vintage Key Linocut enhances this beautiful engraving of a boy.
