This is an original Lino cut made from 3 different colour plates and a 4th plate to apply the chine Colle. It is of the historic Dorset Button
Chine Colle is a technique where tissue is applied under the ink , in this case to represent the colour of the button.
It is an original design based on a button I bought from a museum in Shaftsbury, Dorset,

The image size is 6cm x 6cm and comes with a 14.5cm x 14.5cm (6" x 6") mount so that you can easily find a frame to suit your own decor.
I have included an example in the photographs of limed ash. (not included in listing)
This is a limited,variable edition of 20 (only 20 prints created but some with different colours)

I took part in an exhibition in Shaftsbury Dorset where the theme was the history of the town. I went for a wander around the museum looking for inspiration and ended up buying a Dorset Button, made by one of the volunteers.
These buttons were originally made in the town as part of a cottage industry that started at the turn of the 19th Century. This style was made on a wire frame twisted on a spindle then dipped in solder. Cord was then wrapped around the frame.
I used the button that I bought as the starting point for the linocut, you can see it in one of the photographs
