Item details

Piece of handwoven wool/linen yarn, with a lozenge shape woven from a very unusual seaweed yarn.

An embroidered girl's face with long hair tied back with red silk sits in the lozenge which has four dark red venetian glass beads at its corners. The long hair is made from a scrap of Moroccan yarn,

It is mounted on a piece of ecru linen with red stars,

It all is framed in a white box frame, measuring 25 x 25 cms

It started with having scraps of unusual yarns, some yarn made entirely from seaweed, and a small bit of a deep reddish brown yarn from Morocco. I blended it with the brown wool/linen yarn that I am rather fond of, and found glass beads to put on the corners of the lozenge shape. It looked better framed in the white frame.
