You can immediately see why I chose the above title. A statement piece, stunning, attractive, made from hundreds of beads. This collar took me an age to complete. The beads themselves are actually not all of uniform size, which is normally what a bead weaver would hate, but in this case, I sought them out as this adds to the illusion of age, giving the necklace that naive, ancient look of jewellery from antiquity. The piece is easy to wear, is quite heavy but comfortable, is approximately 2 inches deep, and closes with a chain fastening, which is adjustable. This is a one-off, there may be other collars in a similar style but this one is the only one in this colour.

I visited the Tutankhamen Exhibition in Manchester and was inspired by the beautiful items of jewellery. The colours, the gold, the delicate stone inlays. All fantastic. This collar was inspired by the jewellery of the Pharoahs. Both men and women wore them, and you can immediately understand the connection and why I wanted to make this. One of the photos shows a bracelet to match, this has been purchased seperately, however, one can be made by special arrangement, if required.
