G’Day and welcome to my shop of Jewellery delights! I create one of a kind mixed media jewellery from my home studio in Cornwall!
I'll be attending the following Christmas Fairs: 23rd November, Museum of Cornish Life, Helston & Jubilee Wharf Christmas Fair 14th (10-5) & 15th (11-4) December - I'll be showcasing my jewellery collections AND Christmas decorations too!
I accept commissions and although many of my pieces are one off designs, I am happy to consider re-making a sold item on request subject to supplies being available. Please do contact me if you would like to order a previously sold item. I also teach Jewellery making workshops - find my Facebook Page - Bowerbird Jewellery for more info!
I have Hand made these 2 cm diameter buttons using beautiful William Morris fabric from Moda in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum, recreating some of William Morris's patterns into fabrics.
This particular pattern is called Powdered from 1874, in a Porcelain cream coloured background. It features lovely quaint flowers in a repeating pattern - one of the flowers is this beautiful russet or dark peach coloured tulip, with deep green leaves and touches of small curved leaves running up the stem of the tulip.
Designed by William Morris, this pattern had its inspiration drawn from the garden at Red House, the home he built for his family early in his career.
I've selected this tulip from the fabric and created a fabric covered flat backed button, adding a circle of FSC approved wood to the reverse and painted with rose gold metallic acrylic paint. Finally adding surgical steel studs with scroll backs, that are perfect for anyone, even those with extra sensitive skin.
These earrings will come to you safe and carefully packaged in a UK Made eco-friendly recycled kraft card jewellery box - perfect for gifting (or as a treat for yourself!)
A big fan of William Morris design, I was so thrilled when I saw in my local fabric shop that there was a new range of William Morris fabric drawn from original pattern books held at the Victoria and Albert Museum! Victorian floral design, inspired by nature and medieval art, recreated into modern colourways and made into these fabric covered buttons for you to wear!
