This is a stained glass suncatcher, entirely handmade by me, using the Tiffany copper foil technique.

A new design in 2014.. My wonderfully bright and cheerful interpretation in glass of an ammonite.

I've placed a little faceted crystal in the centre and a bigger faceted teardrop crystal at the end of the swirl.

The ammonite shape is formed from 12 pieces of glass, all different colours, lots of streaks and textures and transitioning through the 7 colours of the rainbow.

I've added a frame of twisted wire to give a more shell-like finish to the edge.

The colours are vibrant, the crystals glitter. I am really very pleased with this design. The streaks in the glass give it an almost 3 dimensional effect.

The suncatcher is 13cm x 12cm and it hangs from a sillver chain which is firmly attached via soldered wire rings to two points on the top.

This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use different variations of colour and textures of glass.

This really is beautifully bright and will surely catch some lovely colours into the room when the light catches it.
