This little handbag is carefully made on the Suffolk coast, inspired by the current trend for smaller bags for carrying essentials.

I've designed the longer handle so the bag sits about hip height, there are also two 'grab' handles and an oak button closure.

The bag comes with a removeable handbag charm made from locally gathered shells and fine embroidery thread.

The beauty of jute and cotton is that they are strong and do not stretch, the handles will therefore keep their shape and will not distort with use. As I use a fine hook and a close tension, the fabric of the bag is dense and I've therefore not lined it.

Jute and cotton are natural plant fibres, therefore this little bag is suitable for vegetarians, is 100% cruelty-free and is made in England using materials manufactured in the UK and Europe. I am passionate about slow, simple living and am anti fast-fashion, and am proud to contribute something that looks pretty while not damaging wildlife, exploiting people abroad or racking up air miles!

This bag measures (approx):
24 cm (w) x 17 cm (h) x 10 cm (depth). Long handle is 72 cm drop. Grab handles are 6 cm drop.

'm always inspired by the textures and muted colours of the wild Suffolk Coast. I love the wild grasses and reeds that grow on the shore, the shingle, pebbles, sands and of course the ever changing sea itself. Being immersed in so much lovely unspoilt Nature inspires my use of natural materials and a respect for the earth and old fashioned slow living.

The shape of this bag is inspired by a current trend for smaller bags, which has got to be good for your back!

As mentioned in the description above, my intention is to contribute long-lasting, crafted by hand, slow-made, pretty items to the world as an antidote to today's fast, machine-made retail industry and a nod to a more gentle authentic past.
