Made in collaboration with honeybees; these pieces of sculptural jewellery are inspired by the natural forms found in nature: in cellular structures; cracked mudflats; insect wings and of course, in honeycomb.

I find Honeycomb an incredible and beautiful form and when bees are allowed to build 'wild' honeycomb, the form and pattern the honeycomb makes is even more amazing. I carefully cut out the most asymmetrical and 'warped' areas form the outside of the combs to use in my work.
Each piece is unique, made over months in Beca's workshop in Wales. Made in sterling silver, the work is oxidised and matt-polished as Beca prefers this look, the work will take on a further patination and polish personal to the wearer.

This piece has a silver white oxide applied by the artist, the high points will become more polished as it is worn.

I keep my bees in a sustainable way-I never remove their honey as I want them to be healthy and have their natural diet all year. I disrupt them as little as possible, ensuring they are healthy and safe, they live on a wild patch of land with plenty of natural food sources, and the beeswax I take is the excess wild comb from the outer areas of the hive.

I have always loved the pattern and form of honeycomb. I wanted to be able to draw, photograph and touch it, so I trained to be a beekeeper. In learning to keep bees, I realised that 'traditional' beekeeping is still quite intensive, and so I looked for a more natural method and discovered 'Sustainable beekeeping'
The comb my bees make is 'wild honeycomb' as I do not use a wax foundation to control how the bees build, this means I get a more varied and beautiful form of honeycomb which I can photograph, draw, and some of the excess I carefully cut out to use directly in my jewellery. I mould, carve, build up and form each piece by hand, then cast them in silver, using the ancient lost wax method-so you really are wearing a piece of honeycomb when you wear my jewellery!
