This unusual Fine Silver Pendant Necklace is entitled ‘The Kingfishers’. Made entirely of Fine Silver, the Dragonfly is Plated in 24 carat Gold. The typical blue Kingfisher colour is achieved by the use of Alcohol Inks sealed with a Diamond Glaze to retain the vibrant colour without any fading, and of course being Fine Silver it will not tarnish. Adds a lovely rich addition to your wildlife jewellery collection. Attached by a Sterling Silver Chain the Pendant is 6cm long and 2cm high with a weight of 7.4 grams. It is Hallmarked for Fine Silver with the Sheffield Assay Marks.

When I started using Silver Clay I made up a number of small pieces in the process of seeing how well it worked, correct firing temperatures and length of firing and so on. I came back to the Kingfishers and wanted to have a way to ‘make them fly’ rather than just hanging on a Chain, so made a mould from a piece of twig to provide a ‘launchpad’ from which they could chase the ‘Gold Dragonfly’. I have never made another one so this is quite unique.
