Our first Apple-ties came about when Lane's grandfather died, we were left with a number of ties that had an emotional connection to him and we wanted to make something that when you looked at it would remind you of him. There is something really tactile and beautiful about the fabric used to make ties and they really suit this kind of small make. We made one for each member of the family and have also made other commerative ties, such as Givie's school tie and Mr Lane's wedding tie.
