Did You Know :
Whitby Jet
Whitby Jet is surprisingly light in weight and feels warm to the touch.
Whitby Jet is fossilized wood, similar to our present day Monkey Puzzle or Araucaria Tree which has been compressed over millions of years.
The colour of Whitby Jet is unique; its blackness is so intense that the expression 'as black as jet' has been a commonly used phrase for hundreds of years.
The finest quality Jet has always come from England, around the north-east coast of Yorkshire.
Whitby is a coastal town on Yorkshire's east coast. Whitby has a wonderful history with a ruined abbey, a working harbor, a beautiful collection of red roofed pantile cottages and narrow cobbled streets. The town is also situated close to the scenic North York Moors National Park and unspoilt fishing villages.
