This is no 25 in a series called Tiny 2014. By chance I found myself in 2014, 2015 and 2017 making a series of tiny prints. The 2014 series used acrylics on paper, something I returned to in 2018 with a series of gel prints also soon to be available in the shop.
Although an abstract I see a forest in fall or autumn as the leaves are changing with the first snow falls on higher ground. Everyone sees something different though and I've come to see them almost as as artistic versions of the 'Rorschach' or inkblot tests. This tiny artwork is approximately 2" square, with a strong physiscal texture. It has been window mounted to fit a 6" by 6" frame with a backing piece and packed in a clear cello bag. The image shown on your screen is probably larger than the physical print so allowing you to see the rich physical texture and subtle shading possible with this technique.
They are priced to sell at an Art Boot sale and rather than reprice and rebag them all I am offering them here at the same discounted price.
This is a single one of a kind print. The other image shows a frame and mount (software generated) for illustration, but no frame is included in the price. If you would like me to arrange framing please get in touch before ordering. Despite the tiny size and inexpensive price, all materials used are of archival quality - mount, paper and bag.
I often work in series and by chance I found myself in 2014, 2015 and 2017 making a series of tiny prints. The 2014 series, of which this is one, are all monoprints made with acrylic paint on watercolour paper.
They came about as a consequence of cleaning up after painting in acrylics. I took a transfer print from the paints on the palette after mixing them up a little. The resulting print was then cut up almost arbitrarily into squares about 40mm (1.5") on a side. My original intention was to assemble these into a collage, but looking at the small squares of colour I decided to keep them as individual prints.
