This bag has been recycled from a needlecord cotton skirt found in Swanage in Dorset. The soft needlecord has a dark blue background with little pink, yellow and pale blue flowers in the design.
It is lined with light blue cotton recycled from a pillowcase and features a zipped security pocket inside. With an open top, the handles are sized so you can carry it in the hand or over the shoulder.
Robust, practical and perfect for stuffing with books, umbrellas, water, purses, make-up bags, random shopping etc.
Because each of my bags started as something else (a wool kilt, a tweed jacket, a cotton shirt) they come with a unique numbered card that shows what they used to be, and where they came from – a sort of bag birth certificate.
If your bag gets grubby after a few months of bouncing around on public transport and out shopping, you can machine wash it on a gentle wool setting. All the materials I use are machine washed before the stitching starts, so they are used to it.
approx. 41 cm high by 39 cm wide
(contents not included!)
There are some pouches available in the same fabric too; see 'pouches' section.
