Inspired by the different seasons, this piece depicts some of my favourite flowers seen towards the end of Summer. I like to visit gardens around the country for inspiration.
The hydrangeas are one of my Mum's favourite flowers, they always remind me of her! Seeing the different colours according to the quality of the soil is fascinating and the blue ones seem to me, to be the most unusual. Yellow rudbeckia flowers always add brightness and good colour contrasts within any arrangement and I enjoy using them to create my compositions and bring them to life. This particular variety I believe is often referred to as "Indian Summer". I'm always looking at colour composition with such arrangements and placing the yellow of these flowers together with the beautiful magenta pink verbena is always interesting.
