Cast from an exquisite little poppy seed-head I found near my studio one year, these recycled silver ear studs are a reminder of happy times spent out in the countryside.

Poppies often spring up on neglected land, so I think they signal that beautiful things can develop from unpromising beginnings, everywhere, if we just look carefully enough.

I’ve lightly antiqued the surface of the silver, to emphasise all the amazing natural details, but if you prefer the earrings with a polished finish and no antiquing, just select this option on the drop-down. Bear in mind, though, that you won’t see so much detail if you choose the polished silver finish!

The reverse of the gorgeous ear-studs is flat for comfort, sitting snugly against your earlobes.

Totally unexpectedly, a small group of tiny red poppies sprang up one year, on a neglected piece of land just beside the Mojo & the Maker studio. After they’d flowered, and after they’d dried in situ and shed their seeds, I noticed one of the beautiful seed heads had been bleached white by the weather. Looking at it more closely, I was awed to see the intricate and beautiful details created by nature, and I couldn’t bear not to capture its beauty in silver. Every time I wear my own pair of these, I remember that beauty and joy can come from the most unpromising of starts!
