Signed, stamped, hand titled, mounted print of original illustration by Mark McPhelim.
My unique take on Glasgow's iconic museum of transport and travel.
This beautiful example of architecture by the late Zaha Hadid hugs the river Clyde and was built upon former shipbuilding yards. The museum now holds over three thousand examples of Glasgow's transport history and was European Museum of the Year in 2013.
They say that good design should capture the imagination and this building's complex and jagged form got me thinking! Using the maximum quota of artistic license, my illustration depicts the strength of people power coming together and squashing a plain box shape from both sides. The outcome is the museum's true irregular facade we see today. Job done!
