Item details
The decorative style for this vase/utensil holder was inspired by Annette's drawings for adult colouring books. The picture was drawn by Annette and from this drawing two adhesive stencils were made, one for each side of the vase. The stencils were eased into place onto the curve of the pot and three coats of glaze painted into the outlines. A speckled satin glaze was painted around the images and the inside was given a yellow glaze. Once the glaze was dry the stencil was removed to leave an un-glazed outline, which when kiln-fired leaves the image outlined in the colour of the vitrified clay.
