Item details

as I have said, I turn my pens a little thicker than normal as a lot of my local customers are elderly and like a thicker pen to grip.
now about that oak. In 1929 the roof of the church, here in the village, burnt during a refurbishment and had to be completely replaced, The church being a grade 1 listed building this was undertaken by specialist company. then in 2018 the roof needed to be replaced again so it was stripped and all the old timber was given to me to " do something with". Upon inspection I found that the vast majority of this wood was oak and about 90 years old. I have been cleaning and sorting it for some time and am now starting to make things with it. Hence the pens as a lot of it is baton in long thin strips.
