Item details

An artisan necklace with nature and the sacred at its contemporary heart. Green represents our beautiful Earth, three spirals the Sacred beliefs of my Celtic ancestors and the silver Moon at the centre of it all.

For this highly unique necklace I've hand-hammered an inversed copper triangle and then torch-fired various layers of vitreous enamel in shades of green and ivory to develop its unusual pattern. Encased in the enamel are three copper spirals which represent the galaxies and the sacred spirals of my Celtic ancestors, and a silver moon created through a process known as reticulation (to give a pitted and cratered moon-like appearance). The pendant is mounted onto a 925 sterling silver chain with a 24k gold-filled twist-lock jump ring giving additional security and durability.

The rear of the pendant has been patinad and stained with alcohol inks before being sealed and polished with 5 layers of microcrystalline archive standard wax (vegan).

Every piece in my enamel collection is completely unique and created through an organic process. The pieces design themselves, I just facilitate the creative process!

"As above, so below" has never been so apt with our beautiful planet now surrounded witih its own ring of human debris. With the moon now almost guaranteed to be mined for minerals I was inspired to create something that told of the moon's once sacred meaning to European pre-Christian cultures.
