Who said that copper bracelets had to be plain and boring?

This stylish, contemporary chequerboard bangle is rigid and fastens with a hinged clasp making it secure enough to wear at work as well as more casual activities.

The chequerboard design has been created by weaving thin copper wire around six thicker base wires. The standard width is 1cm but the number of base wires can be increased to create a wider bracelet if preferred. Please remember that, although the item you receive will be very similar to the one pictured, because it is handcrafted it will be totally unique and slightly different.

Copper is reputed to help alleviate arthritis and rheumatism and is thought to have first been worn as jewellery by the Ancient Egyptians.

Copper is the traditional gift for the 9th wedding anniversary in the UK and 7th in the US.

The bracelet will be supplied in an organza bag.

Copper is a beautiful metal to work with. It's malleable yet strong and using wire rather than sheets allows you to create so many designs and patterns. While traditional copper bracelets are usually plain bands, I love the idea of updating the concept, introducing new variations and making something unique and personal.

The chequerboard is a perfect pattern for men, although there is no reason why ladies cannot wear it too.
