Amethyst is the stone of kings and the birthstone for February. Ranging from pale lavender to deep, rich purple it has long been admired and treasured despite being readily available.

I chose silver filled wire for this tumbled stone as it doesn't overpower the crystal in the way copper would as it darkened. For the same reason, the silver has been left to age on its own.

This particular amethyst has a natural dent on one side which was the perfect fit for a freshwater pearl. The other side is flatter and therefore plainer but the piece is still reversible.

For those who believe in the healing power of crystals I ensure that the stone comes into contact with the skin.

The pendant is supplied on an 18" sterling silver snake chain and will come boxed.

Amethyst

Amethysts are said to be extremely beneficial to the mind helping you to focus and facilitate decision-making. As a good aid to memory it makes an ideal gift for students.

This is a one-off piece as the size and shape of the stone dictates the finished design and is therefore totally unique.

Your necklace will be supplied in a box unless otherwise requested. First class signed for postage within the UK is included.

I have always loved amethyst: it is my birthstone, Zodiac stone and purple is my favourite colour. It pairs beautifully with silver as the paler metal allows the stone's natural beauty to shine through. I didn't want the setting to be too heavy or invasive - just enough to hold the stone in place. The freshwater pearl adds focus while the rose bail and spirals add femininity to the pendant.
