This hand felted gnome is Ciaran, and is inspired by the upcoming Imbolc celebration where we begin to see the bulbs bursting from the ground and buds start to form on trees. This gnome/tomte/troll/elf doll is perfect for your bookshelf or mantle and would make an incredible gift for your friends, family, or yourself.

Ciaran the Imbolc gnome/troll/elf:

Stands about 10.5 inches (27 cm) tall and 7 inches (18 cm) around the base including his shoes.

He has little flesh coloured cheeks and nose under all those locks.

His hat is made from a blend of bright green and brown merino and copper tussah silk, sparkling Angelina and bright green trilobal fibre.

He is lightweight and soft to the touch.

His beard and hair are made from white Wensleydale locks that have been hand scoured by me using ecologically friendly and biodegradable soap. Care has been taken to use wool raised in the UK.

I had Spring on my mind and became inspired by the upcoming Imbolc celebration where we begin to see the bulbs bursting from the ground and buds start to form on trees. In this piece, the bright greens represent the spring bulbs, the copper is the budding tree limbs (Beech tree especially, the brown is for the Earth and the sparkles are for the frost and dew that falls on the ground during the Winter months.
