Love this

This beautiful Discus Bowl with an outstanding rippling grain pattern shimmers when moved in the light The bowl measures 185mm in diameter with an internal bowl of 115mm by 30mm with an undercut rim.
The wood, which has been drying in my wood store for the last 2 years, came from a tree surgeon in Birmingham.
After turning and sanding the bowl, I have sealed the wood with cellulose sand and sealer and melamine lacquer before polishing to a soft seen with wax polish to enhance the grain .

I used a piece of Ash which I knew had rippling in the grain pattern, because I had used some of the wood previously. I decided to turn a discus bowl with an undercut rim which would make a loverly gift and look nice in any home.
