Morika means “the smell of the forest”. If you perhaps smell that peculiar mushrooms’ smell, that wet grass and moss smell, Morika is around. She likes to care for the very special plants and fungus essential for the environment wealth and she’s very proud of it. Basically in a kinda form that reminds a hedgehog Morika is around sometime confusing the viewers with a hedgehog. She’s very shy, sometimes shows herself for as long as a blink. It’s a forest’s spirit that also care for the little animals and domestic animal as cats or dogs and can be very close to humans that appreciate animals. Morika can be very happy with a small portion of dogs’ or cats’ dry food sometime.
I’ve made my version of Morika out of Earthenware Ceramic, washed with oxides and glazed giving a small parts an extra shiny glossy detail. This piece has been fired twice in an electric kiln at 1000C.
It can be displayed outdoors or indoors. It can be a beautiful ornament for your desk or coffee table or studio.
