In these difficult times, I continue to work from home. I am only selling items which can be posted via the Post Box which is just outside my gate. I have a stock of stamps and packaging materials and, therefore, can stay open for business without imposing extra risk on other individuals. As usual, vintage linens and fabrics, re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories, may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
This glasses case has been entirely hand-stitched. The front of the case is an embroidered and felted meadow design.
The front of this glasses case has been made from 'eco' felt - produced from recycled plastic bottles. Using hand-dyed wool, a meadow design and blue sky have been felted to the background using an embellisher machine. The sky and meadow areas have been 'stabilised' by simple hand stitching in fine threads. Snippets of various yarns, kept from other projects, have been felted in place to represent meadow plants. Daisies, and other wild flowers, have been added in simple embroidery stitches.
The case is lined in a blue and white floral fabric and inter-lined with interfacing. The reverse of the cover is a blue and white striped canvas fabric. The case is seemed with blanket stitch in crochet cottons for durability, blue and green used for different parts of the design in order to tone. The case closes with a crocheted loop - using the same blue cotton thread, over a grey button.
Dimensions (excluding seems):

Width - 8.8 cm approx
